Critique
French bulldogs.
It was an honour and great pleasure to be presented with an entry, which combined such numbers and quality. Many decisions were the result of fine hair splitting. All dogs were shown in first rate condition, and well groomed. All were well ring trained and did their handlers. justice. I found only one slightly suspect mouth. BOB was an outstanding fawn bitch, Birks' Ch. Birique Prinzessen JW. At 5 years old she is in her prime, and, in superb condition, she effortlessly cooperated with her handler to demand this honour. She has an outstandingly good head, with good pigmentation, wrinkling and well filled, below excellent bat ears. Lovely shapely cobby body, her flowing gait confirmed how well construced she is. The DCC went to an outstanding youg dog from the PG class, a pleasant surprise as this is usually where the stars in waiting are biding their time. He was Bootle's Acirema Columbus Tommyville, a dark brindle, with a head and body so well balanced to make a harmonious whole. He has a large masculine head, without any coarseness, a well domed forehead, well filled below his dark eyes, and finished with superb bat ears. His neck is well arched, leading to a cobby body with a good roach. He moved well, and should improve more with maturity to become a real force to be reckoned with.
Dogs. Veteran:3(1) 1. Stocks' Truhali Black Ice at Ottenstock, youthful 7years brindle, with well preserved head, short body, good roach and well set tail. Moved a little close behind
2.Kozhevnikova's Int Ch Glenlee Night Hawk, fawn, body longer than 1, good
head with adequate wrinkling and well set ears, front movement lost him first place.
Special Puppy: 4(0) 1. Jenkins' Feniton Ferguson, brindle, maturing well, especialy in head, roach developing well behind nicely arched neck, well angled stifles, moved well borh front and rear.Best Puppy
2.Smith's Ageancourt Sweet Rocket, fawn, seemed a little subdued, as he could have used his ears better and shown off his typical head; good cobby body with roach and well set tail.
3. Burton's Terry Leigh Boone avec Labanjo, brindle, developing well for age, with promising head, and well shaped body and tail set. Lacked concentration as his handler, unfortunately, was not well.
Special Junior:9 (3) 1. Friend's Friend de la Parure, small brindle, well balanced with good head set on arched neck, topped with correct. well set bat ears, and good roach and cut-up.
2, Phillips' Tuchoos Porthos, very dark brindle, appeared black except on close inspection, but had matching well set dark eyes in well developed head, short in body with roach, although stifles were somewhat straight.
3 Seymour's Ruomyes Bete Blond, fawn, a little longer than 1 and 2, but pleasing head with well turned lower jaw and correct bat ears. Movement could have been more flowing if his stifles were not rather straight.
Yearling:9 (0) 1. Marsden's Baron Berty at Bremars, brindle radiating confidence, strode
out with flowing gait. Very mature for age with large correct head, nicely wrinkled, topped with superb ears. Cobby body with well sprung rib cage, good roach and cut up and well set tail. RDCC.
2.Birks' Birique Wreignmaker, good head, but lost to 1 on ear carriage, good roach, but could have more definite cut-up.3.Mavro Michaelis' Shoebridge Francs, Larger type
brindle, with shapely body, head needs a little more maturity.
Post Graduate:13(3) 1. Bootle's Acirema Columbus Tommyville. DCC
2.Lebedava's Ocean Fantasy iz Palevy Bulldog. Brindle, lost to 1 on body shape with flatter back. Good head with well turned up lower jaw, and well set bat ears.
3.Spencer's Glenlee Cheyenne at Sheardown. fawn, back a little too short for complete
balance, but compensated with good tailset and well developed head bearing good bat ears
Limit:10(0) 1.Blair's Tommyville Tantrum at Twinhoe. Brindle. Well wrinkled head with good turn up to lower jaw, dark eyes and correct ears. Cobby body with well sprung rib cage and cut up.
2.Drummond's Dancing Shadows. Well balanced, but lost on movement. good roach
and typical head with correctly set ears,
3.Birks' Birique Prinz Regent, fawn, shapely body with good straight front. Head could do with a little more work below eyes, but good ears.
Open: 10(2) 1. Partridge's Abbeymill Mr. Bojangles. Brindle, up to size but well balanced and very sound. Admirable head, shapely cobby body with plenty of substance and good cut up. Movement good front and rear.
2.Mc Innes & Jenkins' Ch Feniton Fergus at Morvern JW SHCM, Smaller fawn, seemed a little subdued in these surroundings. Good head with correct muzzle & stop, with well carried bat ears. A little more roach would improve an otherwise good cobby body. A good mover.
3.Bootle's Timmy McTimony. Fawn, in really hard condition, could benefit from slightly more body fat over the muscles. Good head with an alert expression due to his good ear carriage and round dark eyes. Shapely body, movement hard to fault
.
Bitches: Veteran:2(0) 1. le Gallais' Ch Tommyville Tulip of Gais. A youthful- looking matron, just old enough for this class. Fawn who has retained good head qualities, and the typical body shape that gained her her title. Movement a little stiff, but still a most attractive bitch.
2. Mitchell's Spandapa Tanto Tia, A sprightly 10 year old, still full of joie de vivre, more
lightly built than 1, has kept good body shape, but could do with wider muzzle and shorter lower jaw.
Special Puppy:7(0) 1.Richardson's Riccibet Miss Mink. Brindle, maturing well for her age. well-developed head, feminine with no sign of coarseness, pleasing correctly shaped body, movement very satisfactory for one so young.
2. Girling's Ageancourt Sox, brindle with one white "glove", still attractively babyish, but has good ears on a head which should continue to mature well. Still awaiting more marked roach.
3.Cutter's Dapledan Paris, brindle with correct ears on maturing head, body shape still lacks some roach and cut up.
Special Junior:12(1) 1. Kendrick and Jones' Acirema Lady Charmaine. A very well balanced, feminine, delightful young bitch. A highly superior head, perfect round dark eyes, elegant shapely body. Moved very well. Litter sister to the DCC winner, should have a successful future, RBCC.
2.Keates' Nokomis Little Snow Bear. A most appealing small pied. typical feminine head, good body shape, satisfactory movement. Immaculate white coat with no ticking, patches truly brindle.
3. Bootle and Moye's Acirema Fleurette Tommyville. Another litter mate of 1. Worthy of this place in a large class. Maturing well, with a good front, well boned and correct body shape. Movement just not so good as 1 &2.
Yearling:11(0) 1. Birks' Birique Winnerova. Correct small size, femiine head in proportion, with good ears. Good body shape with roach and cut-up.
2.Crindle's Faberge. Brindle, less mature than 1.Faultless ears, on a head which still needs some finishing, dark eyes set low, good lower jaw. Showed herself to advantage, moved well.
3.Jopling's Abbeymill Shtoom Shtoom. Larger than 1 and 2, hope she has stopped growing. Straight front, good bone for a bitch, head developing well, knew how to use her ears. Movement affected by rather straight stifles.
Postgraduate.14(3) 1. Conway's Birique Wannagotu Anashell. Dark brindle, typical head with soft expression and perpendicular ears. correctly shaped body. could do with darker toe nails, but this had no adverse effect on her movement.
2.Robertson's Robobull Smeg. Dark brindle with shorter body than 1, lacked her substance. Well shaped head with well turned lower jaw and good ears
set just the right distance apart.
3.McAuley and Aitkin's Madainn Highlan Mystery. A great show girl, personality combined with most satisfactory head and ears. Body had sufficient roach, but
movement not helped by straight stifles.
Limit:14(3) Banks' Nellbank Graces Satin Beau. Small, sound, but undeniably feminine. Good front with sufficient bone, and well developed head and upright bat ears. Well shaped body. A good mover from all angles.
2. Keate's Nokomis Endless Summer. Not quite the substance of 1. but has a good
straight front, well shaped head and turn up of lower jaw, and good bat ears.
3.Mc Kenna's Dameja Lucy Locket. Lighter in build than some, but very sound and shapely. Movement some of the best. Little to fault in head, bat ears and dark eyes.
Open: 13(2) 1. Birks' Birique Prinzessen JW- BCC & BOB. .
2. Kendrick and Jones' Acirema Sealed with A Kiss. Brindle, a worthy runner- up to 1. Body a little less cobby, but a good mover. Feminine head, difficult to fault, with round dark eyes and good ears.
3. De Bie's Pink Lady V Muppy's Place. A larger brindle, good ears and eyes, but lacking a shorter muzzle. Well shaped body, with good spring of rib, and a good mover.
Good Citizen Dog Scheme.1(0) Stansfield's Nokomis Whispering Breeze. Unplaced in a very strong previous class, but a sound typical French bulldog. Dark brindle with plenty of breed type in her head and ears, and straight front.
